October 2006 - the station shows its capabilities

Once again Hawkesbury Radio got out and joined the community at the 2006 Richmond Airshow in October. Your station has capability that few stations have - even the commercial stations - we can run the entire station from an outside location, using our OB bus. Hawkesbury Radio Chairman Paul Rassmussen put it this way:

"The Guru [Gavin Casburn, the station's technical director] needs a special mention as he did his techo magic again. A few anxious moments setting up Friday arvo, but easily fixed with a pair of scissors and a pair of deft hands under the panel. 'Snip' and the problem went away - crystal clear sound all over the Hawkesbury, coming to you from the airshow site ten feet from the centre line of the runway - courtesy Hawkesbury Radio. The Guru Magic. Also thanks to the Van - it just 'hummed' and did its thing - good on you van. And doesn't it look a treat now? Wow!

"Des Long, the BOSS of the airshow, told me....'when you have Hawk FM, who needs 2WS? NOT us'"
